He said to the woman: I will intensify your labor pains; you will bear children in anguish. Your desire will be for your husband, yet he will dominate you.

Wives, submit to your own husbands as to the Lord,

Now as the church submits to Christ, so wives should [submit] to their husbands in everything.

Wives, in the same way, submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, even if some disobey the [Christian] message, they may be won over without a message by the way their wives live,

A king's rage is like a lion's roar, but his favor is like dew on the grass.

A king's terrible wrath is like the roaring of a lion; anyone who provokes him endangers himself.

Because of this, the king became violently angry and gave orders to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.

Then in a furious rage Nebuchadnezzar gave orders to bring in Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. So these men were brought before the king.

Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with rage, and the expression on his face changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He gave orders to heat the furnace seven times more than was customary,

Who can withstand His indignation? Who can endure His burning anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, even rocks are shattered before Him.

And they said to the mountains and to the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb,

because the great day of Their wrath has come! And who is able to stand?"

As he approached the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, Moses became enraged and threw the tablets out of his hands, smashing them at the base of the mountain.

"Don't be enraged, my lord," Aaron replied. "You yourself know that the people are [intent] on evil.

The LORD will not be willing to forgive him. Instead, His anger and jealousy will burn against that person, and every curse written in this scroll will descend on him. The LORD will blot out his name under heaven,

[A Maskil of Asaph.] Why have You rejected [us] forever, God? Why does Your anger burn against the sheep of Your pasture?

How long, LORD? Will You be angry forever? Will Your jealousy keep burning like fire?
