In the Ten Commandments, God clearly states that we are to take a Sabbath. We don’t take lightly the other Commandments, so why ignore this one? Perhaps this is because the consequences aren’t obvious. Yet, a Sabbath rest is for our own good. We are offered this gift of rest, but we usually refuse it. Join us for this three-week series called “GEARING DOWN”, and discover what your body and soul so desperately needs.

Most people want to believe their life has meaning and purpose; they want to believe that somehow the sum total of their days on earth will add up to a lasting legacy, a force for change, or some other meaningful impact that will leave an imprint on at least a small corner of humanity. The problem is we often end up looking down upon others in order to prop up an inflated image of ourselves. Instead of seeing the opportunities to serve the needs of those around us, we clutch after opportunities to seize the promotion of self. As difficult as this truth is for each of us to hear, it is the message many of us need, and it is the message that God wants to use to bring us to a place of greater humility where true and lasting significance can be found. Join us for this 5-part series as Creek’s End celebrates 15 years of ministry.

This series highlights four different “monsters” Christians must battle as they seek to live faithful lives of obedience to God. Christ is the true monster-slayer, offering us freedom through His death and resurrection.
